These tasty little star-shaped brownies are the best solution to an after-school snack or easy holiday treat to serve at the kids table.

squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened baking chocolate
3/4 c.
unsalted butter or margarine
2 c.
sugar
3
large eggs
1 tsp.
vanilla extract
1 c.
flour
1 c.
coarsely chopped pecans
1 tsp.
confectioners’ sugar
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9″ x 13″ baking pan with foil; grease foil.
- Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on high 2 minutes, or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in sugar with wooden spoon. Blend in eggs and vanilla extract. Add flour and pecans, and mix well. Spread into foil-lined pan.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. (Don’t overbake it!) Cool in pan on wire rack.
- Cut brownie into 18 stars in pan, using a 1 1⁄2-inch star-shaped cookie cutter. Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar. Carefully remove star brownies from pan with spatula; reserve trimmings for snacking or crumble on top of ice cream.
